A Recipe for a Dating Disaster Turned into True Love!

Jigna and Neal were both on Dil Mil for a while before they matched. When they matched, they talked on and off for 4-6 months. Jigna kept ghosting Neal, but he persevered and one day, they both finally met up in person.

Their first date, just like their talking stage, was a disaster. Neal flew in from New York to Dallas to meet Jigna, and the entire weekend was, as Jigna puts it “the worst date and worst weekend ever.” In her mind, she believed she would never meet Neal again, but, when she dropped him to the airport, he was very apologetic for how the weekend turned out, and very persistent on getting another chance. For Jigna, she recognized how genuine Neal was being in his apology and effort. She knew his heart was in the right place, so she gave him another chance.

Shortly after, Neal moved from New York to Houston to be closer to Jigna after dating only for a few months – indicative to Jigna that Neal indeed, was the one. Since then, Jigna and Neal have been learning how well they work in a team. During the COVID-19 lock down, Jigna was in Dallas while Neal was in Houston, Texas. The distance during quarantine was tough on Jigna, and recognising that, Neal met up with Jigna halfway at a random state park. Both of them had a wonderful time sneaking off to a cabin and watching The Blacklist in each other’s company.

Jigna and Neal both enjoy the outdoors, and frequently explore them together. So naturally, Neal wanted to incorporate this into his proposal to Jigna. He took her on a hike in Breckenridge, Colorado, and as they saw someone walking by, they asked for a photo. The “photographer” pointed out that Neal’s shoelace was untied, and he dropped down to seemingly tie it. When Jigna looked down, she saw that Neal was bent on one knee, with a ring box in both of his hands. He proposed! Later on, he let Jigna know that the entire thing was set up so the “photographer” could capture the magical moment!

Jigna’s favorite thing about Neal is that he has a big heart. Neal is the kindest person Jigna has ever known, while his favorite thing about Jigna is her sense of humor. Now, it’s been over two and a half years since the two have been together – and now they’re engaged!

If Jigna and Neal hadn’t finally decided to meet up, and when they did, if they didn’t decide to give each other another chance, they wouldn’t be here, happily engaged today – Dil Mil ever after indeed!
