You made a Dil Mil profile. Now what?
First of all, go you! You’re already one step closer to finding something real. We know it can be daunting to put yourself out there, but you’re amazing, and the world needs to know that. Here are a few tips to help you get set up and get some matches:

This is key – we already know you’re a snack, so make sure your first pic shows that too. Besides letting people know what you look like, you should also give them an insight into your personality. We suggest uploading high quality photos that clearly show your face. Show off your best features and include some photos of you doing an activity, hanging out with your pet, traveling, or just being silly. Don’t use a selfie that’s too zoomed in or a photo that’s too cropped/blurry.
How to add photos to your Dil Mil profile:
Go to your account screen.
Click on the edit icon located in the top right corner.
Click the “+” sign to upload a photo.
Hold and drag the photos to rearrange the order.
2. Write a killer bio
This is your chance to make a great first impression. Put something in your “About me” section that’s actually interesting to you, because it might be for someone else too. No vagueness here – tell us your current favorite song, your potential upcoming travel plans, your favorite quote, and if you want – why you’re on Dil Mil! Or just write something from the dil. <3
How to edit the bio on your Dil Mil profile:
Go to your account screen.
Click on the edit icon located in the top right corner.
Add or change whatever you want in the “About me” section.
3. Add some personality traits
Select the personality traits that are most relevant to you! This lets people get to know you a little more, and the app will even show you the personality traits you have in common with someone else when you match (they’ll be highlighted in dark purple when you view the other person’s profile)! Add as many relevant traits as you’d like.
How to add personality traits to your Dil Mil profile:
Go to your account screen.
Click on the edit icon located in the top right corner.
Scroll down to “Personality traits” and add them by tapping on the ones which are relevant to you.
4. Connect your Instagram account
DO IT – this gives people an insight into your lifestyle, your interests apart from your profile, and helps ensure that you’re actually real. Give them a sneak peak on what you like to do on the weekends, your interests/hobbies, family, or whatever part of you you like to share on Instagram.
How to connect Instagram to your Dil Mil profile:
Go to your account screen.
Click on the edit icon located in the top right corner.
Scroll down to “Socials” and click on “Connect Instagram.”
After you sign into Instagram, an icon will be displayed on your profile that will link to your last 30 Instagram posts.
Your Instagram should now be connected!
5. Make sure your notifications are ON, email is verified, and profile details are accurate
Your details such as age, height, religion, community, education, etc. are important so that we can match you and others with your preferences! Make sure these are accurate & update them in your profile section by tapping on the edit icon and scrolling all the way down.
You will be notified every time you get a match or message, so make sure your notifications are switched on. You can do this in the same profile section right under your profile details. Also, make sure to verify your email to receive important updates and exclusive offers.
START MATCHING Get to swiping and get some matches!
From the home screen, you can view potential matches. These are based on our amazing matching algorithm, so there’s bound to be someone you connect with! In fact, the more you use the app, the more our machine-learning algorithm can leverage your data to help you find your perfect match.
To view a person’s photos, tap on the right side of the screen. To go back to a photo, tap the left side. Their profile details will appear after viewing the last photo or tapping on their name.
To Like someone, swipe right. To pass on someone, swipe left. You can also Superlike someone or send a Noteto show them you’re really interested. If both people swipe right on each other, then congrats – it’s a match!
