How a Questionable First Date Led to Everlasting Love
You know you’re talking to a couple of romantics when their response to “Why did you decide to get on Dil Mil?” is “to find everlasting love.” Well luckily for Yashvi and Himanshu, they found just that in each other when they matched in 2017.
Their first date got off to a rocky start when Yashvi showed up late, refused to hug Himanshu, and kept making him repeat everything he was saying by saying “hmm?” after every sentence. At some point during the date, something changed and they started clicking. One moment Himanshu was wondering whether it would be rude to just get up and leave, and the next moment, he couldn’t take his eyes off of her. He knew by the end of the night that this is the one. And the feelings were mutual! The next morning, he woke up to a text from Yashvi saying, “was last night real?” and that’s when they both knew this was it. Himanshu loved that Yashvi was not only drop-dead gorgeous, but also humble, easy to talk to, and had a great sense of humor.
They met again two days later and went to the Lincoln Memorial at night time, where they were the only ones there because it was really cold out. That’s when they shared their first kiss, and knew it would be their last first kiss ever! So a year and a half later when Himanshu was ready to pop the question, he of course proposed to her in front of their closest friends right at the Lincoln Memorial over the labor day weekend.
The couple loves to travel together, whether it’s exploring wineries and hiking trails in Virginia and Maryland, or breweries and national parks in other states. They also recently did their first international trip to Paris and London (remember when international vacations were a thing??). They also love to go to the gym, lounge around, cook together, watch the office, and play with their adorable cat that they adopted together!
