That Moment When You Unmatch Your Bae Because of His Man Bun 😂

Upon matching with Parth on Dil Mil in December of 2016 and despite talking for a few hours, Miral actually decided to unmatch her perfect match! (But of course, she didn’t know he would become this just yet. 😉)  “Well initially when we started talking, I unmatched Parth after a day because of his top knot and beard – two things I despised and found very unattractive.”

But Parth wasn’t one to give up. He mentioned how he had hit it off immediately with Miral, and he was really drawn to her because she watched Game of Thrones (it was listed in her profile description) and actually went to the same college as him, but they never connected while both of them were in school. With his top knot still intact, Parth found Miral on Facebook and messaged her again.  “Once we started talking again and after meeting him in person, I loved it as it matched his personality and gave him a unique look. Our very first meeting, I felt very comfortable with him and instantly felt like I could trust him – something that usually takes me a very long time to do. I learned not to judge a book by its cover. :)” 

Why did you guys decide to meet each other?  “Once we started texting each other, we spoke on the phone the following week. The first time we spoke on the phone we talked for 3 hours and the time just flew by. We spoke on the phone every day after and then on December 19, 2016 Parth came down to see me in Savannah. We decided to meet so soon (two weeks since we first matched) because we felt like we connected and the timing was perfect as we both had some time off from work due to the Christmas holidays. That same weekend of our first meeting, we ended up taking an impromptu trip to Charleston, SC, which neither of us would have ever done with anyone else.”

What was it like the first time you guys met each other? Miral: “We decided to meet at the mall in Savannah where I was working. I felt a little nervous as I had read a whole bunch of reviews of how bad and unsafe online dating is and of course kept thinking the worst. I worked part time at the mall and Parth walked into the store, we said hello and semi-hugged, then grabbed lunch once I was off. Although initially a little weird, I soon felt very comfortable, we were able to talk as if we had known each other for years.” Parth: “I drove down four hours from Atlanta to see Miral for the first time. I am generally a calm person, so I wasn’t nervous, but I was excited to meet her as this was my first long distance relationship. At that point, we had been talking every day for two weeks so I already felt comfortable with her. Our first meeting went so well that we decided to go to Charleston, SC the next day and spend the weekend together.” 

What are some of the things you two have in common? What makes you really “click?”

1. Food: We both love to cook and eat out at restaurants.
2. Traveling: We both are well-traveled and enjoy taking trips.
3. Outdoors: We both enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, nature trails, etc.
4. Entertainment: We both enjoy American and Bollywood movies/music. We also enjoy Game of Thrones and making cheesy jokes.
5. Family values: We both value time with our families and expect them to be a significant part of our lives moving forward.
6. Birthdays! We are both Gemini. Parth was born on June 3^rd 1990 and Miral was born on June 7^th 1992.

Parth & Miral have been together for about 2 years now, and they recently got engaged in July 2018. Miral was completely taken aback as Parth popped the question on their vacation to Alaska over the summer, but of course she said yes! We’re so happy for the two of them and can’t wait for them to spend the rest of their lives together — congratulations, Parth & Miral! 💕💍 #OnceUponaDilMil
